Portrait of November 15

November 15, 2020 by Clem Robins

One of the delightful characteristics of November is its bright, clear days, such as the one I described and painted in the previous post. Another is bright and clear days in which something seriously weird is going on, usually gale force winds, rapidly moving clouds, and plummeting temperatures. I have no idea why November offers this sort of thing every time. It’s almost as if the oncoming winter were a cat, and days like these are its way of playing with its prey.

Mt. Adams is a lovely neighborhood in Cincinnati, perched on the hill that gives it its name. It more nearly resembles a neighborhood in Montreal than the city which surrounds it.

It wasn’t unpleasant out when I set up, but come teardown time, my fingers were numb and the cab of my truck was mighty inviting. Working under these circumstances, one doesn’t do much in the way of evaluating things until afterwards, with a roof over one’s head. I kinda like this one.
